Shadow and Act Filmmakers Challenge choose New York University’s Graduate student Nikyatu Jusu’s Black Swan Theory. Ms. Jusu was chosen from 57 candidates for the honor. Raised in Atlanta by parents from Sierra Leone, Nikyatu interest in graphic novels, women and contradictory nature of humanity made her winning film a treat for audiences. Nikyatu previous work has garnered her accolades and awards such as an honorable mention for the Director’s Guild, and HBO Short Film Award and a JT3 Artist Award for her film African Booty Scratcher .
