Art Market Productions (AMP), a division of a21, announces highlights of exhibitors participating in the inaugural Atlanta Art Fair, set to take place at Pullman Yards from Wednesday, October 3 to Sunday, October 6, 2024, with a VIP and Press Preview on Wednesday, October 3, from 6-9 pm.
As the first global art fair for one of the fastest-growing art hubs in the United States, the debut Atlanta Art Fair will showcase artworks by over 100 artists, presented by leading cultural partners and around 60 exhibitors, including several galleries from Atlanta: Alan Avery Art Company, Day & Night Projects, Dunwoody Gallery, Fay Gold Gallery, Gallery Anderson Smith, Hawkins Headquarters, Jackson Fine Art, Johnson Lowe Gallery, Marcia Wood Gallery, Maune Contemporary, The Object Space, Poem 88, Sandler Hudson Gallery, Spalding Nix Fine Art, and Whitespace.
The event will offer a unique microcosm of the American South, with strong representation from across the region with exhibitors from elsewhere in Georgia (House of Friends, Savannah); Alabama (Scott Miller Projects, Birmingham); Florida (Fotovat Atelier, Fort Lauderdale, and Steidel Contemporary, Lake Worth); North Carolina (Lucky Fish Gallery, Greensboro); Tennessee (Urevbu Contemporary and Sheet Cake Gallery, Memphis, ZIEHERSMITH and Modfellows Art Gallery, Nashville); and Texas (Mitochondria Gallery, Houston). Mainstream art hubs will also be represented by galleries such as Luis De Jesus and Residency Art Gallery from Los Angeles, Aspen’s Casterline|Goodman Gallery, New York’s M. David & Co. and Spanierman Modern, as well as international galleries (Gallery Tableu, South Korea; Galeria Baobab, Colombia; Makasiini Contemporary, Finland; Spence Gallery, Canada; and Stoney Road Press, Ireland).
Notably, several participating galleries will be exhibiting at an art fair for the first time, highlighting the fair’s ambition to provide a vital commercial platform for the region and celebrate new voices across the South. The fair will present a blend of emerging and established galleries, promising fresh and progressive programming that showcases both local artists and internationally renowned names, including Jeffrey Gibson, whose work is currently on view at the Venice Biennale.
The launch of Atlanta Art Fair comes amid growing recognition of the city as an arts hub in the United States and a pressing need for the city’s art market to have a centralized, commercial meeting point. The fair aims to be an inclusive platform that empowers the local art community by celebrating its unique history and enhancing its existing community of artists, galleries, institutions, collectors, and cultural events. The event anticipates strong engagement from Atlanta-based collectors, art enthusiasts, and professionals from across the industry.
Under the leadership of Fair Director Kelly Freeman, the Atlanta Art Fair’s gallery presentations, extensive public programming, and creative partnerships will further establish Atlanta as an important meeting point for contemporary art in the American South and become a cornerstone event within Atlanta’s vibrant arts scene. Programming is further supported by Atlanta Art Fair’s Artistic Director Nato Thompson, alongside special presentations by local guest curators Karen Comer Lowe and Lauren Jackson Harris.
A full list of exhibitors will be announced in the weeks leading up to the fair, along with further information on events and programming.
