There has been much discussion about preparing the world’s population for more technical jobs. It’s quite common to see community organizations turn to rush to create programs to assist with job training and retention. However, its the collaborations with community and corporations that create substantial opportunities for those that need it. African Digital Media Academy is an exciting partnership with the Workforce Development Authority in Rwanda and Pixel Corp in California. Pixel Corp prepares people to work in all areas of media, their track record and connection with the Workforce Development Authority has created a brilliant marriage that trains Rwandans and provides an excellent skill set for the workplace. The program participants learn from some of the best digital media creators in the field. Many instructs have worked for Lucas Film and Industrial Light and Magic, created their own successful animated films and in Academia. Here is a peak into the program.
