Musica: Mokobe Nominated for 2012 BET Award

Sugarcane Congratulates for this year’s BET International nominees like Lira, Camp Mulla, Ice Prince, Sarkodie, Wizkid and Mali’s own Mokobe. BET choose some of the best and we know this will be a difficult choice. We want to spotlight Mokobe, the Sony artist from Mali. This French MC has released 2 solo albums so far and became well known in France through his multi-platinum hip hop trio “113”. Both solo albums are tribute to African music/culture featuring some of the best African artists. It’s a great mix of African rythms and French hip hop. His 1st album released in 2007 “MON AFRIQUE” sold more than 60 000 copies in France and features Salif Keita, Amadou & Mariam (Mali), Manu Chao (France), Tiken Jah Fakoly (Ivory Coast), Seun Kuti (Nigeria), Youssou Ndour, Viviane Ndour (Senegal), Fally Ipupa (Congo) among others. His 2nd album released in October 2011 “AFRICA FOREVER” features Famous French MC Soprano (famous French MC who took part of the 2011 BET awards cypher), Malian songstress Oumou Sangare, or Jamaican reggae artist Jah Cure among others. Here is one his releases Taxi Phone:
