Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is pleased to host its annual International Women’s Committee (IWC) Luncheon with significant support from Sarah Arison and Thomas Wilhelm and The Related Group, on October 30, 2024 at 11am. This year, IWC will honor Sarah Arison, a prominent figure in the Miami community who holds leadership positions as the board chair of Young Arts and president of the Arison Arts Foundation, which provides crucial funding for emerging artists. The event will bring together members and supporters from the fields of art, business, fashion, and philanthropy.
The mission of IWC is to create a platform to celebrate women in the visual arts and to further a more balanced representation of women among artists, institutions, collectors, and galleries. All membership fees and donations to IWC support exhibitions by female artists at PAMM, which have included Yayoi Kusama, Teresita Fernandez, Simone Leigh, and Liliana Porter. During the luncheon, IWC leaders will reveal a PAMM exhibition supported through membership funds raised during the year by the committee.
“We are so thrilled to have Sarah Arison as the International Women’s Committee Luncheon Honoree this year. Our honorees exemplify what it is to have the passion and the commitment to support artists, and the arts in our community and abroad. Sarah has been an incredibly loyal supporter of PAMM, the International Women’s Committee as a member and has always supported our major fundraising events. We admire her passion, dedication and commitment in promoting the arts which aligns with our IWC mission to create a platform and to further a more balanced representation of women in the visual arts space,” said International Women’s Committee Chair Darlene Boytell-Pérez.
The International Women’s Committee hosts multiple events each year including receptions, gallery visits, artist-led tours, the annual luncheon, and a spring tea, all highlighting women in the community who have had a major impact on the arts. The annual IWC Luncheon is one of many year-round events that engage and commemorate women in the community who have had a major impact on the arts.
Last year, IWC honored Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, an important Venezuelan art collector and philanthropist who focuses on Latin American modernist and contemporary art. The 2023 luncheon brought together more than 200 members and supporters from the fields of art, business, fashion, and philanthropy.
The IWC Steering Committee is chaired by Darlene Boytell-Pérez and includes Trixie Belo-Osagie, Carol Damian, Mireille Chancy Gonzalez, Jill Ginsberg, Alexandra Lane, and Mindy Solomon.
