The Donald Gordon Creative Arts Awards provide liberating funding to the imaginative projects of UCT staff in partnership with other academics and/or externally situated artists without limitations in discipline. These awards support new projects that engage with ideas of interdisciplinarity and innovation across academic units and communities. The year-long projects require collaboration in a theorised, critical process of discovery, preferably with creative artists in any discipline. Anticipating that the Awards will lead to a dynamic annual programme of events, GIPCA also funds the projects’ curation or production where possible.
