I came across this from the blog A Bombastic Element a few days ago. Tsegue Maryam Guebrou is an Ethiopian Nun living in exile in Israel. She is a trained classical pianist and she studied in Europe, Ethiopia and Egypt. She became a nun after the Emperor denied her travel to Europe to continue her studies. With great persistance she continued to study and compose music and currently has a music foundation. Her music is distributed by Ethiopiques
