I LOVE BEING BLACK, FUSION ARTIST PARTNER TO BRING POSITIVE MESSAGE OF PRIDE, HOPE

In an effort to reach a new audience with its message of cultural pride, the I Love Being Black Movement will host a live-stream event with artist Patrick Hunter at 9 p.m. EDT, May 10 at http://bit.ly/ilbb-patcasso.

Hunter is the creator of Patcasso Art – an idea that represents a blend of art forms such as dance, spoken word and singer/musicians, while celebrating live painting. Growing up in Detroit, Mich., Hunter gained an appreciation for the art of entertainment at an early age and through seeking a way to make his artwork more entertaining, he created the Patcasso “movement.”

“Patcasso Art is considered a movement because we are building an online community to provide a platform for artists to blend artistic expression for a viewing audience,” Hunter said. “Artists will host live online shows streamed for a viewing virtual audience.”

The event is the first in a series planned by artist and I Love Being Black – or ILBB. Watch an example of Hunter’s work on YouTube at http://bit.ly/iusFNu

“My message is to simply show cultural expressions through how the arts can be blended when live painting takes a more visible role,” Hunter explained.

The philosophy of promoting cultural expression is the heart of I Love Being Black.

“We are excited about hosting this event,” ILBB creator Kumi Rauf said. “Technology, black people and art are three passions in my life and on May 10, ILBB will join them all together.”

The I Love Being Black fan page – located at Facebook.com/lovebeingblack to promote positivity, upcoming events, ILBB apparel and more – gains about 10,000 new fans per day and reached the four million fan mark in February. Visitors also can purchase 2011 calendars, which offer important dates in black history and get inspirational quotes and coupons for several black-owned businesses.

“People come to our site to be uplifted, to converse with other black people and also to check out some of our new I Love Being Black gear,” said the 32-year-old entrepreneur. “In turn, we work with numerous charities, nonprofits and community organizations to help promote cultural pride.
