February is Black History in the United States. It’s a time for us to celebrate the accomplishments that Blacks have made and the affect of them on a global scale. While Sugarcane Magazine honors our ancestors everyday, I wanted to provide a link to an important essay written by Langston Hughes ( much love and thanks to Diniezulu Gene Tinnie for reminding me about this fabulous essay). I have been a huge fan of Langston Hughes for years. His short stories are my favorites and I often read them for pleasure multiple times a year. The Negro Artist and The Racial was written in 1926, however it’s interesting to note that it could have ben written 5 minutes ago. Read it here and feel free to share your thoughts.
